Boy, I didn't even think that it might be anything else than your plain old book about how to get that certain person to fall in love with you by going to an intersection at full moon and throwing herbs into the wind or some other nonsense.

Well, I did end up reading what the promotion ACTUALLY said, I saw that there was something entirely different going on. But before I tell you about that, let me say who I am.

Click here if you want to skip through what I have to say about the book and take a look at it yourself.

I've been reading books about magick and witchcraft since I was a young teenager. So when I say I've seen it all, I mean it. There are so many authors out there who have actually no clue in the world about what the core essence of Magick is. They focus too much on the rituals, the outwardly apparent side of things. Like everything else in life.

I must say I am a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I've actually had a few times in my life where I was so desperate for a solution in my personal life that I turned to spells and magic for the solutions. Even though I had been reading these books for so long out of curiosity, doubt still lingered in my subconscious mind about whether or not these things actually work.

So whenever I tried out using magic to influence my own life course or the subconscious minds of others, I always failed miserably.

Nothing plain old worked. Zilch. Zip. Nada.

A friend recommended that I check out "Witchcraft Exposed" online. So when I went to look at the website I was naturally very suspicious and even contemptuous. What new could a witchcraft book offer me?

I was blown away. Because I actually decided to buy this book to see if it's for real. I mean, what it says on the promotional page was actually quite enough for me, but on top of that there was a money-back guarantee for a full 8 weeks.

By the way, if you're anxious to check out what the book could do for you, then you can do that by clicking here.

Yes, this was indeed different from anything I had read before. See, I give you THIS straight from the website:

Everybody seems to have their own opinion on magic... Everybody seems to have a wacky ritual where you take the fresh blood of a bat and mix it wih an old, rusty dagger and then you drink the potion...

This MIGHT work in theory but it's really NOT necessary and hard to actually put into practice... Not everybody has bats or silver-blade-daggers around the house. Furthermore, these rituals can become quite dangerous pretty fast if you're not already experienced...

Don't know about you, but I actually laughed out loud when I first saw this. Having tried rituals and spells before in my youth (and a bit afraid to admit this), and having them fail flat out, this rang so true for me.

Okay, let's cut to the chase - I do recommend you check this out even if you have a lot of experience with any sort of witchcraft.

Because what this book is about is focusing not on the outwardly projected image that most people imagine to be witchcraft, but rather on the INNER, we could even say PSYCHOLOGICAL side of these things.

Subconscious influence has been strongly documented by scientists, and even telepathy has some scientific evidence in support of it. This thing is far from being a fringe hobby for weird people. This is a valid method for making improvements in your life.

So if you're interested in integrating elements like meditation, spirituality and connectedness into your witchcraft passion, I do suggest you take a look at Witchcraft Exposed and see what it has to offer you.

Click here to check out the offer at the book's website and find out how it can help you totally change your life.

I did, and I'm happy for it.

All the best to you,

Daniel Powell

P.S. Many people are now wondering how exactly it can be that your thoughts and emotions, when centered around bringing love into one's life, for example (a very common end to which witchcraft is used), could actually bring that person to you.

That's why you will need to have the core foundations really in place when practicing Wiccan witchcraft. The strength of your belief will determine the interaction between natural energies which put all forces that you see acting around you, in action.

These forces are quite mysterious and not much can be known about them - that is in their very nature. When you focus your mental energies and emotions into a certain direction, you can, however, have an impact on these natural forces.

There are many things in existence which transcend human understanding and exploration, and these have always existed. Whatever you believe in, I respect, but there are simply so many things out of the reach of our logic and understanding.

As you go further down in your Magick path and gain more experience and see what kinds of things will start happening in your life, you will soon start to realize how much influence these "undercover" forces have on your life and in the world in general.

However, there is one very important element in your witchcraft skills arsenal in particular which forms the basic "core" around which everything else centres. This is true no matter what form of witchcraft you believe in. It's this core that you draw all of your inner power from. All of the energy that you have available to put into magic a spell really effective comes from within this foundation. If you neglect it, your efforts will be vain.

This core is above all things, your connection to nature and the natural world. Now, this does not mean leaving big city life, moving into a secluded spot in the deep forest and building a hut for yourself. No. But what I do mean is that you need to be devoted in understanding and helping nature. That's where you derive all your energies from.

You need to expose yourself to nature every day. Start from something as simple as finding a tree in your back yard and going out to spend time near it regularly.

Doing that alone will be enough to replenish your inner energies. You must come to the understanding that we humans are children of nature, that we cannot exist independently of nature and that everything is connected. If you renew your bond with your source, you will find your mental energies growing.

The So-Called Dark Arts of Sorcery and Witchcraft - What Are They?

The concept of witchcraft finds its roots in pagan religion and folklore, but also Christian theology. And the deepest and most primal element found within the tradition of witchcraft practice is something which we call sorcery. Forms of this activity are found almost all over the world, especially in primal societies. This reflects the roots which we all still hold inside ourselves.

Sorcery is considered one form of magic, and like all magic, there is a basic underlying assumption that the universe is one whole and there are relations between all natural forces which we cannot see or understand. It is these hidden forces and relationships between them that a sorcerer (or a sorceress) tries to control with the inner human power that they hold - or if not successful in completely changing them, at least influencing them in the direction which is useful for them.

Another side of the coin is something that is closely related to sorcery, and that is the process of divination. Some practitioners claim to have an ability to "tune in" to these underlying hidden natural forces and to be able to determine facts about events happening in the future. The physical manifestations that they claim to base their divinations on are often stars in the sky, sheep liver, stones, herbs, or even jackal tracks.

So what is sorcery? In the simplest definition, it is the mechanical carrying out of a specific physical action for the purpose of causing another physical effect to manifest itself. The physical actions might be the same across cultures, but the meanings given to them vary between traditions.

More high-level sorcery transcends the mechanical plane and involves around the aid of ethereal spirits. The rule, however, is that the sorcerer instead of forcing the natural powers to work in his favor, instead tries to compel these forces to act. They cannot be acted on directly, naturally. From a psychological standpoint, the thought processes that happen in the head and heart of a sorcerer are intuitive and reflexive rather than analytical and calculated.

If you look at societies where sorcery is widely practiced, it very often serves a practical function. In some, however, it is related to religious practices. Commonly though, the line between practicality and ritual is blurred - priests may sometimes use sorcery to make rain or to ripen the crop faster. The difference can be made by looking at the goal. If the sorcery is performed for the common good of society, then it is considered a religious practice, but if the gain is for the good of an individual, then this is a private, practical sorcery and is not religious.

Which Witchcraft Spells Could I Try Out Now?

Witchcraft is a worthwhile activity and you can reap many rewards if you practice it correctly. Keep in mind at all times that it is all about your inner world. It's not about what kind of objects you use for your rituals, but rather the effort and emotional power that you put into it. So when you perform these spells, put emotional intensity into it.

Spell For Gaining Love

In rituals, items are placed on your altar. If you don't have one, then you can substitute a coffee table for one. Whichever one you choose to use, place a red candle and a white candle on it. You also need a fireproof container, such as a cauldron into which you put some sand.

On a piece of fine writing paper, write down what kind of a person you would like to have in your life. What does he or she have, who are they as a person, and so on. If you have red or pink ink, use that, but if not, then any color is fine.

After that, focus your thoughts on how that person would make you feel, what kind of activites you'd like to share, and then make yourself feel happy - allow happiness to seep into you. You are bringing wonderful things into your life, so you should be happy!

Now, whenever you find yourself ready for this, take the piece of paper and hold it in the flames of both candles, and say a chant like:

• I ask that the Gods (or the universe, if you like) to send me this person of my desires
• I may not yet know their face or their name, but I know they exist
• And they are looking for me in return

This spell will work, you will find, wonders in putting the forces of nature into work to bring you the person you're looking for.

Spell of Abundance and Wealth

For this ritual you need the largest denomination of paper money that you can get access to. With the help of this ritual, you can double this denomination. For example, the fifty dollar bill is good, the twenty dollar bill is also fine.

Place the bill in a thin white envelope, then close and seal it. Fold the envelope in half, and from then on, each day for seven days in a row say to yourself once:

• Divine powers to me will tell, how I will double this sum
• Listen to me, the-powers-that-be, and singing, find me where I am

Hold the envelope in your hands up high, and then pretend that is has become heavier each time you say this chant. Keep the envelope with you at all times, in your bedroom while you're sleeping.

And once you do receive the money you have been expecting, you can open the envelope and start using that bill again.

What is Wicca And What Is Witchcraft, Exactly?

Many people are taking an active interest in witchcraft and its practices nowadays. There is a certain charm to the essence and core of what witchcraft is. It means going inside yourself and using your deep unlocked potential to bring about change in the physical reality, with the help of ethereal forces all around us.

There are now spellbooks available online, you can read up on free spells that are available, and think you have been initiated into this tradition. However, witchcraft and Wicca are much more about your inner world, rather than the outside manifestation in rituals and spells in the shape of ritualistic objects such as candles and so on. That is only what you can see. What you can't see is what the witch, or practitioner of witchcraft is going through inside herself or himself.
So what exactly is Wicca? Truly, Wicca and witchcraft cannot be distinctly and clearly separated as two entities - Wicca practitioners use witchcraft as a ritualistic tool. So it's very common that when people first hear about Wicca it tends to be about the spells and about witches - this is because of the misconceptions surrounding it. What's even more important, witchcraft can be defined as a separate activity only when it is practiced without the spirit and the purpose within the Wiccan culture. So things are quite blurred here.

Let me give you a specific example. In the Christian faith, for centuries and centuries blessings and exorcisms have been an important part of the religion. If you have seen the movie The Exorcist, then you will remember Father Karras reading from the Bible while casting holy water on a possessed child. But we still hold this activity in high esteem, while witchcraft is looked down upon. Are the rituals actually that far apart, and so fundamentally different in their natures? I will leave the answer to you.

So as I said before, witchcraft, contrary to common opinion, is not about evil spells, body parts of frogs, spiders and bats being mixed together in cauldrons, curses being conjured to change the luck of others, and so on. What is more important is the mindset - witchcraft is mostly about harmony and balance, and this is reflected in many of its symbols. Though it must be said, oddly enough, that cauldrons and broomsticks do play a part in some rituals in witchcraft.

Some of the common aims which Wicca practitioners aim to achieve with their activities are promoting life power or fertility, bringing more love into the world, healing others, and reducing negative influences around us. It is a commonly held belief among Wiccans that magic (or magick, as they spell it) is a primal law of nature, as alive as forces like the rays of the sun or the strength of a gust of wind.

However, when approaching the Wicca culture, it is always important to keep a sense of balance and respect. Wiccans do not make any claims to extraordinary feats like producing great balls of fire or cursing someone to eternal damnation. When you are just getting into this culture, treat it with respect and tread lightly. But you will find in this a very worthwhile pursuit.

Modern Witchcraft Takes A Different Form Than Traditional Witchcraft

In medieval times, the practice of witchcraft was seen as an evil and negative tradition, and practitioners were persecuted, tortured, hunted and killed - usually by being burned alive at the stake. This was due to widespread fear among people of witches and witchcraft. It was little-understood and mystery surrounded it - people in many places in Europe and also in some places of the American colonies feared witches.

The modern term epidemic applies, as it was so widespread but quite irrational. At the slightest hint, a person could be accused of being a witch, even if there was no evidence present, was usually enough for that person being taken away, tortured, and killed.

In modern society, however, we have moved on from such insanity and superstition and nowadays, witchcraft is becoming a more and more accepted way of living. Many more people are now embracing the traditions of witchcraft openly, without having to fear persecution. Media attention and movies have played a large role in popularizing the Wiccan religion in particular - one form of witchcraft. But Wicca is just that - only one form of this practice. There are many different movements within witchcraft that are being practiced today - most of them having their roots in ancient traditions.

It is curious that the modern witchcraft movement can largely be traced back to three specific people. These are - Gerald Gardner, the "father" of modern witchcraft, Margaret Murray, a scholar and research, and Alexander Sanders, a "grassroots" leader.

Wicca can be considered the most well-known form of witchcraft in the modern world. However, several other forms also co-exist with Wicca, especially outside of Europe. In Central and South America, shamanistic magic is still widely practiced by indigenous tribes. Same goes for Africa as well - shamans play a very important role in the societies of the local tribes.

Another form of witchcraft widely practiced is Voodoo, especially in Haiti and Louisiana, including derivatives such as Hoodoo, Macumba, and Santeria (practiced in the Spanish Islands).

There are many similar elements to these practices and other forms of witchcraft.
The list includes spellcasting, elaborate rituals, and calling upon the gods for assistance or insight. Nowadays, witchcraft that is practiced for the benefit of the world at large and not for the callous or egoistic needs of the witch, are considered "white", or good. When before, witchcraft was used (or at least purported to have been used) to cause harm or to curse others, then nowadays, the power of witchcraft is used for healing and for the benefit of others.

What Is The History Of Witchcraft in Scotland?

What is the image that appears in your mind when you think of the word "witch"? I'm guessing you're picturing an ugly, old women with a big nose and a wart on her face, armed with a broom and wearing a black dress? If that's how you do imagine witches, you are not a minority. But you are wrong. Read this article to see how the story of witchcraft actually unfolded.

Such outward projections of medieval witches are common whenever they are pictured in movies or theatre, and it is actually quite an exaggerated image. In actuality, however, all it took to be accused of and executed for being a witch was a peculiar birthmark or freckle, or simply dancing and singing outside where you could be seen, or eventually, simply someone's suspicions or an accusation. Times were rougher back then.

Stories relating to witchcraft have been going around since the dawn of time. However, it was not until the 16th century that persecution of witches started. It was in 1563 that the Witchcraft Act was ratified and this made it illegal for anyone to be a witch or to consort with one. Thirty years later, the first major persecution took place. In 1590 King James I and VI started the North Berwick Trials. Having recently returned from Denmark with his bride, he had almost gotten killed by a powerful storm. This, the king believed, was a conspiracy against him by the witches. He had a hundred people arrested, most of which were tortured and burned alive.

Major persecution again took place in 1661 and 1662 with the Forfar Witch Hunt and the Auldearn Trials respectively. These were prolonged by accusations made by so-called witches in order to save themselves. Especially strange were the Aberdeen Trials where seven women were accused of using mystical powers to murder people, and using body parts from their victims for making potions. And it gets stranger - in 1704 the Trials of Pittenween were based only on the words of a 16-year old boy, and all of the accused were tortured heavily. Only later was it discovered that everything had been made up by the boy.

Another curious case which deserves mention are the Renfrewshire Trials of 1695. An 11-year old girl called Christian Shaw witnessed a housemaid drinking forbidden milk and threatened to tell her mother this, but the housemaid told the girl that if she did this, the devil would take her to hell. And the little girl, the story goes, started having visions and tempers, accusing the maid of torturing her. Some accounts say she was throwing up feathers, wax, stones, hay, even a hot coal. The most extreme descriptions are of her floating in mid-air, throwing things around in the room without touching them. As a result, over 20 people were examined and also tortured. Several of them were found dead. Six of these people were found guilty and burned alive.

The Witchcraft Act was abandoned only in the year 1736. According to some estimates, around 4000 people were executed in Scotland alone as a result of this persecution.

These Two Witchcraft Spells For Happiness And Wealth Will Give You Results

With witchcraft, magic and spell casting becoming ever more popular these days, the Internet is filling up with information on spell work and detailed instructions. But with so many free spells available for you to use, it can get really confusing to pick the ones which will work the best for you, and to put them to action. So here are two very easy spells to work with which do not require much preparation.

Seriously dedicated witchcraft practitioners often use full rituals instead of simple spells, but when you want to get the effect of whatever you're aiming for but don't have the resources or the time to perform a full ritual, then these spells can be quite useful.

What matters more than the rituals or spells themselves and the form they take, is how much ENERGY and EMOTION you put into it. It's up to you to really bring whatever you are performing, alive. When you start, put all the emotion that you can muster from deep inside into the spell, and when you're done, let all of it go and simply let the spell do what it's supposed to do.

First, the spell for money, prosperity and abundance.

Take a green candle and put it in the center of your altar. On the right hand side of the candle, put a twenty dollar bill, straightened out. And then between the candle and yourself put a small piece of pyrite - also known as fool's gold. Place your incense burner to the left of your candle, and put a piece of charcoal in the burner.

When you are ready, light the piece of charcoal, then the candle, and put a piece of basil on the charcoal. While clearly picturing the amount of money that you want to possess, start chanting these words:
• Give me the prosperity to live in happiness
• Bring me abundance so I have enough
• To buy what I need, I need to have money
• More and more than what I have now
• My intentions are good, I deserve it rightly
• So that in my life I am cheerful and happy

And now, here is the second spell that will bring you happiness.

Find three cords: a black, a blue, and a purple one, made of thin string. Hold images of happiness in the forefront of your mind and at the same time, braid the three cords together tightly. Now tie a knot at the end of the braided cord. Keep holding thoughts of happiness in your mind. Then tie six additional knots into the string, still keeping up the energy of your positive thoughts. Carry this cord with you at all times, until happiness grows in your life. When you have reached abundant happiness, place the cord somewhere safe. Or if you wish, offer it to one of the elements and burn it. The ashes must be scattered in a river or stream.

How To Pick The Most Suitable Witchcraft Spell For You

Witchcraft spells are becoming more and more popular and the Internet is filled with sites loaded with free information on spells. They are everywhere and you can easily get overwhelmed with picking the right one that works for you. And if you do find your spell you might actually have no clue about what to do with it next.

So here are some guidelines to help you get out of this mess of confusion and start casting your first spell.

First, whenever you read about witchcraft spells and the effects that they are purported to have, do not be drawn in when somebody claims you can have overnight success with them. That's not what this is about. We call this area of practice "spell work", and that's exactly what this is - WORK.

You must practice and put in the effort. It's like any other area - it may take some time before you find real success, and becoming accomplished in the art of magic certainly takes dedication. So when your first try falls flat on its face - go in again and try again. You might need to change your angle of attack, so do whatever is necessary to make spells and magic work for you.

As time goes on and you get more practice in, you will begin to develop a sense for when your spells are actually working well and getting results. When this happens, you will feel a great sense of accomplishment, and that is a moment to be awaited. Don't give up easily, that day will come when you can actually feel the sensation that a spell has worked.

Second, if the spell will result in a change for the worse - a negative outcome, then don't get involved with it. There is a law called the Wiccan threefold law, and it applies here more than anywhere else. It simply states that whatever you put out into the universe will return to you three times as powerful.

This is useful for you if you are sending out positive vibes or trying to help someone. But when you're trying to cause harm to somebody, then imagine what the consequences might be for you. We are all connected, so keep things in harmony and do good.

Thirdly, don't try to perform spells when you're frustrated, angry, or confused. These negative states of mind will not let you concentrate fully on performing your spell, so in addition to the effect mentioned above you might not even get any results at all.

Set up a quiet space where you can do your spell work, learn to relax thoroughly before you begin, and be prepared. Sit in the quiet for a while, try meditation, breathing exercises, and so on. Anything to get you in the right mindset.

The Significance of Individual Witchcraft Symbols

If you know anything about witchcraft and have had some contact with it, you will have noticed that there are many symbols inside this art that are taken to mean certain things. These things may not be clear on first inspection, but they do fit into the framework of witchcraft nicely.

Let's go over each individual symbol and what it stands for in the witchcraft canon.
We obviously cannot go over each one in this article for lack of space - there are simply hundreds of different symbols, each one with specific uses. But there a few of these which are already well-known, many of them thanks to their shared use with modern Christianity.

First we have the pentagram, the infamous symbol for all of what are called the dark arts. It's misunderstood and misrepresented. What the five points of a pentagram stand for are the natural elements found in nature. These are: earth, water, wind, fire, and spirit. There are more subtle meanings for the pentagram in different forms of paganism, but this basic representation remains the same.

The Pentagram is used in rituals very often, but it also acts as a symbol of balance and harmony, and protection. The spirit in those elements is one of the primary elements - the pentagram is a physical representation of the spirit when it is in balance against all of nature and in harmony with the world. So if you need protection or wish to ward off evil forces, then wear a pentagram symbol on yourself.
Next, we have - the Cross. That's unexpected, but that's right - this famous Christian symbol (and one could say, THE ultimate Christian symbol) is also used in witchcraft. It only became a Christian symbol when Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross. By the way, the cross symbol is universal in many cultures which have existed throughout history even before the times of Jesus Christ - for example the Egyptians, the ancient Japanese, the Sumerians and many other cultures made use of it.

But the pagan - and thus also the witchcraft meaning is the life power. But also in a more general sense it stands for all life and fertility. As a transposition it also represents the sun.

The horizontal bar on a cross stands for our physical existence - which means our life and our body (so it's actually highly symbolic that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross). The vertical bar, on the other hand, represents more ethereal qualities - knowledge and understanding. So hanging on a cross means overcoming physical existence and entering into the realm of understanding.

How To Get Started Casting Witchcraft Spells

More people nowadays are looking to witchcraft spells to bring some order and peace into their lives. It is the power within yourself that acts as the intermediate in making a witchcraft spell really work for you. If you feel you want to use some of this inner mind power to bring a change into your life, then this article will help you.

You can do great, sometimes unbelievable things by casting spells. Spells are dynamic, they are enchanting, and if used correctly as part of a larger system, life-changing. So then, what is the first thing to know when you're learning to cast a spell? It's easy - you just need a spell and be ready to give it a good try!

Here is what you need to be looking for when picking the right spell that will work for you. If you stick to these guidelines your spell casting will improve considerably, you will notice it.

First, if you are just a beginner and starting out, go for the simpler ones. This is a skill like any other and you cannot expect to be a master any time soon. Go for the basics. Of course, the spell that you try must be exciting for you, otherwise it won't have that strong of an effect. But don't ever go beyond your capabilities as you will find out that you get no results, and that can be massively disappointing.
So I recommend you stick to the basics at first.

Second, do not expect fast results from only performing a spell once. Be ready to go back to the drawing board (so to speak) and give it another go. Perform your spell again and again whenever necessary, so you can start to feel its power growing within your subconscious and in your heart.

The very common misunderstanding is that the spell by itself for some reason has the power, but this is not so. The power does not come from the elements, this is impossible. The power comes from within you, from deep in your soul. The spell is intended to bring about change within yourself and that's where the leverage is.

So, to increase this internal power, you need to be working on growing it. And performing spells routinely will help you do just that. If you really begin to understand how a spell works and you begin to build a connection with in, tune into it, then you will start to see the spell work and give you results. But nothing won't happen before you have made the spell a part of yourself.

And last but not least, if you find that connecting with a spell really isn't working out much, then find a personal item which has sentimental value to you and keep it close to you. This helps you to tune in to the powers within you. It's especially helpful if this object generates emotions within you - that's what sets things in motion.

What Is Witchcraft And Magic?

Very little is known among the general public about what witchcraft actually is. There are so many myths and misunderstandings surrounding it that rumors are easy to spread. Here's an overview of the history of witchcraft on the British Islands as that's where it originates.

What can be said about witchcraft is that it is both a religion and also a way of life or a mindset. It is actually gaining weight as more and more people around the world start to practice its various rituals.
One of the most common questions people want to know regarding witchcraft is if it's real or not. The answer to this question depends solely on how you define 'real'. Because it is a subculture and a way of life and there are so many people practicing it, then yes, it can be said that witchcraft is very real. However, the question of whether witchcraft practitioners actually wield any supernatural powers is a tougher one to definitively answer.

Witchcraft has its roots in paganism as it's closely related to that belief system as well. Both of them can be classified as unorthodox religions, even though during the times when these religions were very wide-spread, it would not have been labeled so.

Witchcraft is not a single system, but it's a set of different ways of practicing it. Some of them are very traditional and conservative, sticking to the old ways of how rituals used to be performed, and some of them are very modern, incorporating into its canon elements from other contemporary movements. The self-help and/or New Age movement is one example of such an influence.

Traditional witchcraft got its start from Britain - it has a centuries long tradition there, and as was said, up to the Middle Ages it was the predominant belief system. This was simply the way people went about their day-to-day lives - practicing witchcraft.

At a certain point it received a strong stigma from the church, in part due to some practitioners (witches) going to extremes and using, for example, blood in their rituals. This attracted the attention of the church powers who used this fact to proclaim witchcraft a heresy. This lead to widespread discrimination against witchcraft practitioners.

Such was the legacy of the church that in England anti-witchcraft laws were actually in effect up until 1951, when they were finally repealed. However, before that time the movement was underground and in great secrecy. It could even be called a hidden society, as even until 1944 people were actually convicted of practicing witchcraft.

In fact, in the Republic of Ireland, the anti-withcraft laws were in force even longer than in England - it was repealed in 1983. And in Israel, which gained independence from Britain before the laws were repealed in 1951, still has the Witchcraft Act in force. Whether it's actually enforced is an entirely different question.

Witchcraft has been widely practiced in the past and is still quite alive today, with millions of practitioners all over the world.
